Extra wifi packets?

I am running Wireshark on a PC to capture outgoing multicast packets to an 2.4Ghz Access Point.

I am trying to use OmniPeek with an D-Link DWA-160 to capture these packets going over the air.

My filter is configured to capture packets from the source (PC) and destination (multicast address)

However, the amount of packets OmniPeek is capturing is greater (~100 extra packets) than the packets Wireshark is capturing from the source PC...

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks

All WLAN radios have different sensitivities. Depending on the adapter/driver combination, it is not at all unusual that you would not exactly the same amount of packets. Plus, even a difference of a few inches from the source of the traffic can make a difference.
