Network disconnects

Postby felipemartin@aol.com » Mon Dec 08, 2008 4:36 pm

I just started using Omnipeek and I am having problems since I loaded the Omnipeek driver. My laptop works perfect when I am not using Omnipeek. When I use the Linksys WUSB600N per WildPacket recommendation and launch Omnipeek the wireless connection drops. If I close Omnipeek, the network connection returns. I am using the Omnipeek drivers. I think I have done everyright right.

This behavior is normal. When OmniPeek uses a wireless adapter for capturing packets, network connectivity is disabled. OmniPeek puts the adapter in RF monitor mode so it can capture wireless traffic.

You should buy another Linksys WUSB600N. That way you have one for networking, and one for capture. Ideally, you would have even more of these to perform roaming latency analysis using the roaming plug-in.
