Hello-

We would recommend a clean uninstall/reinstall of the application. It looks as if something has become corrupted during your upgrade. Here are the instructions:

If you have custom filters, graphs, etc. please back them up from the following directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\WildPackets\OmniPeek

Then do the following:

1) Uninstall OmniPeek using Add/Remove Programs

2) Delete C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\WildPackets\OmniPeek

3) Delete C:\Program Files\WildPackets\OmniPeek

4) Delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\WildPackets\

5) Run regedit

6) Delete key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WildPackets\OmniPeek

7) Delete key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WildPackets\OmniPeek

8) Reboot

9) Reinstall OmniPeek

Did a reinstall solve the problem?

I have a similar situation.

Hi there,

another complete beginner here. i am having a similar problem where i start a packet capture and then have it basically stop collecting after anything from 60 packets to 10000 (not more so far). This is a bit of a blow as when i first installed it this was not a problem - but as this is an experimental machine i had to fiddle around with drivers and things and then it simply started doing this. i have changed all of the settings with large and small buffers - pre filtering the packets and channels etc... it doesnt seem to help.

i tried your method of reinstalling and it didnt work - so now i am completely baffled.

any more ideas.

ps its the personal version on a xp 64 machine with 4 gigs of ram and an amd chip.

OmniPeek Personal was discontinued three years ago and has severe limits, such as the 10000 packet limit. You may want to download the demo that is available now on our website.

You will have better luck with the standard demo for sure.
