Capturing From Multiple Span Ports

Postby rovalle » Wed Aug 26, 2009 11:03 am

I am using Omnipeek Enterprise and need to be able to simultaneously capture packets from two different Cisco Span Ports. Each port is on a seperate switch. Each span port is monitoring a different subnet and IP address.

My laptop running OmniPeek Enterprise is on a seperate subnet from the two subnets that I want to monitor.

Laptop - 10.30.77.x

Switch 1 - Span Port 1 10.30.4.x

Switch 2 - Span Port 2 155.203.42.x

Can I do this and if so how?

Cheers,

Richard

This is possible, but you would need separate Ethernet NICs. Simply connect each SPAN port to the two adapters and start two captures in OmniPeek.
