How to build a filter 802.11 based on Signal level or Noise?

Postby azonov27 » Fri Sep 18, 2009 3:27 pm

Hi Expert,

I capture a trace using Netgear WG511T wireless card and was not able to build a filter based on Signal level or Noise (Decode View -> Packet Info -> Signal level -> select -> right click ->Make Filter option is grayed out). Does Omnipeek allow to build a filter based on radio info, or I'm using a wrong wireless card?

Thank You.

Vitalik

P.S. I have Omnipeek 6.02 Pro

Hello-

You cannot do this by right-clicking in the Decode View, but it can be done in the Filter GUI. View-Filters-Insert. Select Advanced-AND. Select 802.11. Select the band you are interested and in the dialog you can specify both Signal and Noise Ranges.
