Link Aggregator with OmniPeek 6.5.1 on Windows 7 (64-bit)

Postby paul.hedley@psion.com » Wed Jun 15, 2011 11:17 am

I have just installed OmniPeek 6.5.1 on my Windows 7 (64-bit) PC and also installed Link Aggregator v2.0.0.2. When I start OmniPeek I get the message "Plug-in "C:\Program Files (x86)\WildPackets\OmniPeek\Plugins\WirelessChannelAggregator.dll" failed to load. This might be due to a mismatched API (current version is 12)."

Is the version of Link Aggregator I am using compatible with Windows 7 (64-bit) and the version of OmniPeek I am using?

Paul-

We would recommend completely uninstalling the aggregator and all of its registry items, and then reinstall it. We have tested the aggregator on some 64 bit machines here with the current version of OmniPeek and it works fine.

I have uninstalled Link Aggregator and searched my registry for 'aggregator' and did not find any association to Wildpackets. I then rebooted and installed the .msi again and I am still seeing the same problem.

If I remove the .dll from the \plugins directory there is no error (I am guessing because OmniPeek does not detect it). If the file is there it gets detected but fails to load.

Could the problem be due to OmniPeek being installed in the (x86) directory?

Could the problem be with OmniPeek Basic?

Here is the support information. Does anything jump out here?

Paul-

That is the crux of the issue, thanks for the clarifying information.

OmniPeek basic does not support the aggregator. It requires OmniPeek Professional or Enterprise.
