Easynote G1340 supposedly AR5001 but Atheros driver fails!

Postby osirls » Tue Aug 12, 2008 2:10 am

Hi everyone,

My crappy old Packard Bell easynote g1340 supposedly uses the Atheros AR5001 chipset in its wifi hardware as listed on the spec page on PB's website and version 2.4.2.44 is offered on there.

However, when trying to install the Atheros driver v3.0.1.12, v4.2.2.9 to put it in monitoring mode windows tells me the drivers contain no information on my hardware!

Is my hardware truely unsupported? Can I force install these drivers some how? Can I scan my hardware some how to find out if it really is AR5001 chipset (short of the laptop itself..)

Thank you,
Os
