Netgear WAG511GE?

Postby zilveer » Sun Dec 14, 2008 10:37 am

Hi,
I have tried searching for WAG511 which I can buy but cannot find it, I only find WAG511GE but I dont know if it works with airopeek/omnipeek wildpackets drivers.

I have tried to look up what chipset the WAG511GE uses so I can see if it works with the wildpackets drivers but I really cannot find it.

Does anyone have any idea?

According to wildpackets the WAG511 is supported but according to Atheros webpage the WAG511 modell uses Super AG. but if I am not wrong Super G is not supported by the wildpackets?

I am a little bit confused, can anyone explain this?

From Atheros webpage:
"802.11a/b/g Dual Band PC Card - Model WAG511 802.11a/b/g Cardbus AR5004X Super AG"

/Thanks for answering

I get even more confused now..
If it is not supported at present time how come it writes like this at your homepage:

"Though any Atheros-based PC card or mini-PCI wireless adapters using the supported chipsets should work with OmniPeek, the following adapters have provided good results with OmniPeek"

Model Band Driver
Netgear WAG511 a/b/g v4.2.2.9 Download through MyPeek

at this link: http://www.wildpackets.com/support/prod ... k/hardware

Which card do you recommend, I have looked at http://www.wildpackets.com/support/prod ... k/hardware , where it writes that wag511 has proven good results with omnipeek, and decided to buy wag511 but now you say it is not supported at present time. I really get confused now.
