RemoteAdapter Plugin does not capture any packets

I downloaded and built the Socket RemoteAdapter. I was able to install and test it successfully on 2 machines (both XP) and on the 3rd machine (Vista) I cannot get it to work.

I verified that the plugin is loaded (it shows up in Tools->Options->analysis Modules).
I verified that packets with port 5000 arrive at the ethernet interface of the machine.
I have double checked the port number and IP address settings of the plugin

Still the remote adapter does not see any incoming frames

Any suggestions??

Verify that Analysis Modules is enabled for that capture.

Also verify that when the capture is running, that a process is listening in port 5000. This is done using netstat -a.

If the plugin is enabled, and listening on port 5000, then add logging to your code to out when data shows up in the recv() call. The question becomes, is something being received and thrown away, or not received at all?

On the socket server machine, check the firewall. Just turn it off.
