OmniPeek cannot detect MOS score of VoIP call.

I have create a trace of a SIP VoIP call using OmniPeek Enterprise v5.0 but it does not display any MOS score, jitter, R Factor and VS data.

My config is pretty simple, I have 2 SIP soft clients (in my case X-Lite) communicating through a IP PBX (Cisco Unified Call Manager Express).

I noticed that OmniPeek detects the following codec: G.711 u-law (unsupported). Not sure why it says unsupported, therefore I forced the SIP soft clients to use G.711 a-law instead, but now OmniPeek detects a G.711 a-law (unsupported) codec. Not sure if this is the root cause, but would you know why I cannot see any MOS data in a basic G.711 u-law call?

I changed my all setup, now I am using Asterisk as my IP PBX and used different softphones such as X-Lite, Eyebeam, Bira, Express Talk, QuteCom.. running on Windows machines. In every cases I do not get any MOS data, no R Factor, no Jitter... in the network traces collected.

Are the moderators aware of this issue?

Alex-

We have had no other reports of this issue from other customers. A couple of questions:

1. Do you have both Calls and Media view in your copy of OmniPeek? In 5.0, it is necessary to have the version that supports Advanced Voice and Video. This is determined by your serial number. If you have only the Calls view, this analysis is not supported. If you go to Help-About OmniPeek-Support, the features list will be there.

2. If you have both views, is Voice and Video analysis enabled in the Performance Options of your capture?

I have been having this same problem FOREVER, so thank you Alex for asking this question, and thank you DJWP for answering.

You guys dont know how frustrating this has been but I didn't have video analysis enabled and that was the problem.

How can a base station receive signals from many mobile phones? A cell is told to have a perticular frequency. But how a base station antenna take the signals of many mobile phones? Doesnt they interfere? What is that process called?

Keep in mind, OmniPeek can only capture and analyze 802.11 a/b/g/n. It does not support any cell phone protocols at the present time.
