Issue in decoding the packets at 72 Mbps in a OTA capture

Postby sarmay » Mon Jan 10, 2011 11:18 pm

Test conditions : Excellent Signal conditions ( Close to the AP)
When there is a data transfer ongoing between the STA and the AP , we see most of the packets at 72 Mbps are with CRC error( though the sequence number for each UDP datagram increments correctly). Aggregation is successful .

Is this a known issue with the Omnipeek in decoding the 72 Mbps packet.

Can anybody comment on this.

Thanks a lot :-)

OmniPeek should have no issues with 72Mbps packets at all.

The problem may likely be the CRC errors. Any wireless packets with errors are generally not decoded properly. If you have maintenance on your software, you should contact WP Tech Support so they can look at a trace file:

Thanks for the reply. It got resolved now.
I added 20 dB padding and placed the sniffer apart from the DUT/AP by 6 ft and it started working fine.

Thanks once again :)
