Hi Everyone,

In "OmniPeek Basic v6.6 Technical Specifications" pdf I can read :
"Using the Atheros Driver, OmniPeek can provide a hardware based timestamp with microsecond accuracy."

My question is: what it the timestamp accuracy when using non-Atheros WLAN driver, in my case the WUSB600N one?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Hi, Carl-

This is a question that would need to be posed to the manufacturer, in this case Ralink. The timestamp comes from the driver and it is developed by them. It may very well be as accurate as Atheros, but since it is developed by Ralink, we cannot say for sure.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

Do you work for WildPackets? If yes: doesn't WildPackets already have this kind of information for all supported hardware? Sounds like it is important for WildPackets to know this anyway, right?

As a end user of a LinkSys dongle (not even supposed to know there is Ralink inside) I have very little chance to find someone at Ralink who can take some time to answer me...

My goal is just to know how much I can rely on timestamps provided by WildPackets' application, given I use this or this supported hardware probe.

Thanks in advance for any further information you may have.
