How do I create a local user?

Postby ssearls » Tue Feb 23, 2016 10:26 am

If we are having problems with our remote auth, can I create a local user as a temporary solution? How would I do so to give them the same access?

Scott-

We assume you are talking about Omnipliance Linux. Here is how to create a user in the Linux OS:

root@localhost:~# useradd xnxnx
root@localhost:~# passwd xnxnx
Enter new UNIX password:
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: password updated successfully

Please contact Tech Support directly. You will need to change the authentication type using the Capture Engine Manager to OS authentication only from TACACS:

I was wondering whether I would need to do that! Thank you! You confirmed my suspicion.
